JOHN EDWARD HELIKER (1909-2000)
1936 HELIKER (1909-00) Brick Yard Ink Drawing
Here is a wonderful original 1936 ink drawing / watercolor painting of a farm landscape titled "Brick Yard" (Maine,
or Vermont). Done by the very important NEW YORK abstract expressionist painter John Edward Heliker (1909-00). At this time
John Heliker had already known and studied with ARSHILE GORKY, KIMON NICOLADES, KENNETH HAYES MILLER, THOMAS HART BENTON,
BOARDMAN ROBINSON, and PHILIP EVERGOOD. Signed and dated on the lower right "J.E. Heliker '36". Measures 5" X 8" through the
matte. It came from a wonderful collection of his original works acquired from a friend of the artist in the 1940's. We will
supply a letter of provenance along with a card certifying that it came from our collection.
