Here is a very beautiful original vintage oil painting by the very famous Philadelphia, PA artist EARL HORTER (1881-1940).
Painted on board measuring 7" X 8 1/4". Signed on the lower right "E. Horter". Professionaly framed in 1951. Was given personally
to famous movie poster Illustrator / Artist Joe Smith from Earl Hortin. Joe Smith had known Earl well and studied art under
him. Excellent condition. A very Rare find!!! Gorgeous color and style... VERY, VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!

Comments: Speciality: etchings of urban scenes. An avid collector of Modernist art, he at times owned works by Brancusi,
Picasso, Matisse, as well as works by Steeler, Stella, MacDonald-Wright and other American painters. During the Great Depression
he began collecting American Indian artifacts. In 1999 the Philadelphia Museum of Art staged an exhibition of his own works
together with works he had collected ("Mad for Modernism: Earl Horter and His Collection").
