JANE NORDIN

Here is a very beautiful original oil painting of an American Indian Yaqui woman from the Arizona / Texas area. Painted
circa 1962 by the famous Native California artist JANE NORDIN. Painted on stretched canvas measuring 16" X 20". The frame
measures 26" X 30" end to end. Signed on the lower right "Jane Nordin". Also signed on the reverse "Nordin '62 ~ El Paso".
Comes with a wonderful booklet on the artist (shown below). Gorgeous color, detail, and style... VERY, VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!
Jane Nordin studied art at the Los Angeles County Art Institute. As a child, she was especially fascinated with the way
of life of Native Americans. Later as an adult, she got the opportunity to paint members of the Rio Yaqui Indians. She was
able to paint them on their own territory located in the State of Sonora in Mexico. These paintings from the 1950s and 1960s
are Jane Nordin's most acknowledged works. Her paintings have appeared in a variety of magazines and newspapers around the
world.
